Actress •Teaching Artist
Hey y'all! I'm Mercedes Marcial and I am a Filipino-American actress residing in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am currently represented by DeSanti Talents in Chicago.
People often refer to me as ethnically ambiguous and I excel at roles that have a young, sarcastic, smart vibe. In 2021 I was blessed with the following opportunities:
3 local commercials
1 short film
3 feature films
1 new television series
Humbled by these opportunities, I am ready to face 2022 head on and work even harder this coming year. I have a lot to look forward to, with a regional commercial under my belt and some projects expecting to air!
Always a student, I currently study at The Extra Mile Working Actors Workshop led by the exuberant actor Glenn Morshower. He is known for his role as Agent Pierce on "24", and his most recent recurring role as Marshall Winthrop in FOX's "The Resident". With recent events of COIVD-19, I am able to continue my weekly training with Glenn over Zoom despite being across the country.
Between being on set, I am recording audiobooks through Audible. Some of my recent books can be found here.
I am also a graduate of Oklahoma City University where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting with a minor in Costume Design and Construction in May 2019.
You may have seen me host an Oklahoma City Dodger's or a Frisco RoughRider's baseball game during the summer of 2019 as well. When I'm not auditioning, recording, filming, performing, or learning I am two stepping, swing dancing, practicing my jump rope skills, and trying to stay in shape while living above a pizza shop. Check out my current and upcoming projects below!

CURRENT AND UPCOMING
In October 2021, I had the pleasure to spend 15 days in Mountain View, Arkansas to film the heartwarming feature titled "Plus One At An Amish Wedding." This film is currently in Post-Production and is set to release Fall 2022. This marks my first major role in a feature film.
In November 2021, I had the pleasure of heading over to Chicago to film an incredibly fun role for "Silent as the Grave." A relentless documentary filmmaker struggles to unravel the mystery of his uncle's death. Currently in Post- Production!

My very first booking of 2021 turned into multiple bookings for The Ohio State University's School of Nursing. While this shoot won't be shown outside of the university, I am honored to film for the very school I grew up cheering for having been born in Ohio.
Living in Michigan has proved its perks! I am so excited to be a part of the new TV series "The Watchers" that will premiere on the Redeem TV streaming app in May 2022. I played the role of "Carmen" and will be featured in 2 episodes.
After the long hiatus of 2020's Coronavirus, I was happy to jump back into the film game with portraying Jade in "Stockholm Syndrome". A suspenseful drama following a young woman seeking help from an old friend about her recent kidnapping and potential development of Stockholm Syndrome.
My summer 2020 quarantine project included recording three audiobooks through ACX. One western romance titled "A Place to Land" by Mary Vine, a drama mystery titled "Remember...A Past You Can't Escape" by Elle Iverson, and the young romance novel "One More Day" by Auryn Hadley. All three can be found on Amazon Audiobooks or Audible!
The world may be put on hold, but my practice is stronger than ever. Using this extra time during the COVID-19 Pandemic, I have been recording scenes from my online zoom class through The Extra Mile Workshop led by Hollywood actor and Dallas native, Glenn Morshower. Zoom videos on"Media" page.
Nothing beats coming together with creative friends to produce great work. I've been working on an independent film with actors in Dallas titled "Tightrope". I have the honor of portraying Madison. Footage to come soon on my "Media" page!

In August 2019, I directed 17 students in the Oklahoma premiere of "The School Play", a farce written by Nathan Benfall at Oklahoma Children's Theatre in Oklahoma City, OK.
During the summer of 2019, I had the honor of becoming an in-game host for both the Oklahoma City Dodgers and the Frisco RoughRiders baseball parks.
I spent my summer of 2019 wondering what the world would be like if men got their period. So, Reily Jane Preston and I decided we should write about it and then film it ourselves. Check it out! (warning: explicit language)
In May of 2019, I traveled to Los Angeles, CA to participate in Oklahoma City University's senior LA Showcase. There I had the opportunity to work with Ross Lacy Casting, actor Reece Rios, actress Mary Gallagher, and Joe Anthony Studios.

In early 2019, I was cast in a short film titled "Lost Goodbye". This post-apocalyptic short film was written and directed by Caleb Holmes and was shot in Oklahoma City, OK.
